This Syd Mead’s illustration inspired me to fully reproduce his illustration with “Blade Runner White Dragon Cut 5”.
The huge pyramids towering in the back of the city area, and the huge buildings towering above them, It is really cool. I have always wanted to create the CG based on this illustration for “Blade Runner White Dragon Cut 5”.
I have no idea about the shape of the huge building drawn from the center to the right in the illustration, because the building has a complex shape.
On the flip side, the shapes of other buildings are simple rectangles.
I think that Syd Mead was likely drawing this illustration simple.
I tried through reproducing the building which has a complicated shape by CG.
Well, I think that it is not far from the illustration (;^_^
Also, I have created the CG of the city area in front of huge buildings with a photograph of cityscape.
I have wanted to create the CG of the Bridge a suspension bridge like Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles at first, but I have created the one based on the syd Mead’s illustration to respect his design.
