Now I can’t edit WDC for about 16 days, because my computer is running to rendering CG animations of Ridleyville. I’m going to use this open time to write blade runner related stories as I come up with it.
Season 2 of the the Sci Fi drama series “Altered Carbon” on Netflix has been coming out. The series takes place over 300 years in the future, a person’s memories and consciousness can be decanted in a disk-shaped device called a cortical stack, which is implanted in the vertebrae at the back of the neck. Physical human or synthetic bodies are called “sleeves” and stacks can be transferred to new bodies after death.
The story unfolds in such a cyberspace, also you can see the world like Ridleyville in Blade Runner. I would say it is filled with love for Blade Runner. I might even think that there is a hidden blade runner-related Easter egg somewhere in the movie.
Well, I ended up to find a kind of Easter egg. A old man at the counter in a Japanese restaurant visited by the main character Takeshi Kovacs in Season 1 looks kind of like be a sushi master in Blade Runner.
These photos are taken from a TV screen, so the resolution is low and it is hard to see, however the pattarn of the cooking clothes looks kind of like that of the sushi master. he is not Robert Okazaki but definitely the sushi master.
